Former Pembrokeshire College student and talented Crwst chef, Sam Everton, has been chosen to represent the UK at the 2019 WorldSkills.

WorldSkills is the world championship of vocational skills. Think the olympics, but with categories for Bricklaying, Cabinet Making, Car Painting, Carpentry, Construction Metal Work, Electronics, Beauty Therapy and many more.

Sam, 20, from Cilgerran has been battling for this number one place for nearly two years, competing in numerous rounds against other young talented chefs from all over the UK.

After a lengthy selection process,  Sam won the right to represent the UK in the Cooking category.

He will join 31 other members of the WorldSkillsUK team, who will be travelling in August to Kazan, Russia where the 2019 WorldSkills are held.  The UK team will battle it out against counterparts from more than 60 countries.

Although hard work,  Sam is extremely proud of his achievements, he said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to be representing the UK at the WorldSkills. It’s been a tough process, but I’ve enjoyed every moment and can’t wait to compete out in Russia’

Everyone at Crwst are extremely proud of Sam, who has worked tirelessly for weeks, months and years to gain this fantastic achievement.

We’d like to wish him the best of luck when he travels to Russia in August! Pob lwc Sam!
