We’ve teamed up with ‘too good to go’ in an effort to combat food waste.
Why it matters?
Over 1/3 of food is wasted globally, accounting for 10% of total greenhouse gas emissions.
In the UK alone, we waste about 9.5 million tonnes of food annually, despite the fact that 8.4 million people in the uk are in food poverty.
This emits 25 million tonnes of co² into the atmosphere – more than Kenya’s total annual emissions.
How it works?
– At the end of each day, any surplus produce that cannot be sold the following day will be put into ‘magic bags’.
– Each magic bag will contain a variety of baked goods and filled rolls with a minimum value of £15.
– These magic bags will be available to purchase for £5 through the ‘Too Good to Go’ app and can be collected from the café at the allocated time.
How to get involved?
1 – Download the ‘too good to go’ app through the app store.
2 – Make an account and search for Crwst priory street or Crwst poppit.
3 – Order your magic bags of fresh Crwst bakes and enjoy!
